The Days After Death

In response to losing loved ones I wrote a poem called The Days After Death. I pray it brings you comfort in various seasons as you miss loved ones.

The days after death you shed so many tears for the one who is so dear to you. 

The days after death we weep it cuts so deep that you are tempted to give into despair. 

The days after death we’re left with memories that you made together. 

The days after death we have the legacy of love you left. 

The days  after death we are making memories without you, while never forgetting you. 

The days after death life goes on, but the loss never leaves you. 

The days after death you wonder what you would have done in situations we find ourselves in. 

The days after death we share stories of you and build on the story of a life well lived. 

The days after death we remind ourselves that death doesn’t have the final word and is  defeated by Jesus. 

The days after death we hold onto to a living hope that say we will be reunited again.
